The event under the Horyzont project is organized by Biblijna Szkoła Ducha in
Mysłowice. Our longing is that the experience of God’s presence will always be an
experience of His love, acceptance, hope, and faith.
Horyzont is a place where we pause together and focus on God. There’s great
power in this, especially when we cry out together, standing in unity and sharing the
same goal.
I’ve been a believer for over 30 years now. During that time, I have experienced
plenty of beautiful moments, but also many that have shaken my faith. Prayers both
answered and unanswered. Prophetic words that came true, but also some that were
left unfulfilled. Much joy and much pain. Great excitement and faith in a revival that
came in a different way than I had imagined.
And despite all this, I still follow God. Why? Because it’s the memory of God’s
powerful Presence I experienced in my youth, that I turned into the foundation on
which I have built my life. And it was not a singular experience – I remember months
when God moved through our nation, and we put everything aside to capture that
stirring. There were meetings at church that lasted till midnight, even though in the
morning we had to get up to work, school, take care of our little children. Yet no one
bothered, because we longed for His Presence so much. That period made me the
person I am now and left a burning mark on my heart – I know that nothing will be as
beautiful to me as being in His Presence.
I believe that God is still moving among us and my dream is for the younger
generations to experience what we had back then. That’s why we are organizing the
worship nights under the Horyzont project. We want it to be a time of expecting His
Presence together and opening up to encountering it.
God’s Presence cannot be manufactured, can’t be faked or artificially inflated.
Neither can God be forced to come – but I believe we can open up to Him and allow
Him to move. When He comes – we are free to be just who we are. Some will
respond to His Presence with laughter, some with tears. Some will behave loudly,
some sit in silence. But no matter what form it takes, the experience of God’s
Presence is always an experience of His love, acceptance, hope, and faith.
But why do we want it to be worship nights? Because worship is a time when we
pause and focus on God. There is great power in this, especially when we praise
Him together, standing in unity and sharing the same goal. I believe that when we
forget everything else and sing: holy, holy, holy, it brings us under His throne.
